About Our Founder

The Warrior Within Float Project was founded by Jo King. Growing up during the final years of the Vietnam War and watching the nightly body counts on the television news, Jo developed a lifelong, profound respect for the sacrifices made by military service members returning from combat. Decades later, that foundational perspective inspired a mission to ensure these vital pieces of American history are never forgotten.

Today, Jo leads the organization's efforts to provide a supportive, non-clinical environment where veterans can amplify their voices. By gathering raw verbal history interviews and preserving them in printed book form, our organization honors the reality of service and preserves the legacy of combat veterans for generations to come.
